🌿 Mold Me a Memory

Raelynn Hunter is a 22-year-old mixed media artist from Pittsburgh, currently pursuing a degree in painting and drawing at Carlow University. Her work delves into the intersections of mold, memory, and the human body—transforming decay into a visual metaphor for emotional and psychological states. Through her practice, Raelynn creates art that is both intimate and universal, rooted in the belief that remembering is a radical act. Her installations and paintings are deeply personal, often reflecting on themes of vulnerability, healing, and time. She aims to connect with viewers on an emotional level, inviting them to slow down, reflect, and engage with their own inner landscapes. "I want to make people remember—I don’t think we do so enough," she says. By embracing materials that mimic or invite natural processes—such as mold growth—Raelynn challenges traditional notions of beauty and permanence in art. Her work is not just something to look at; it's something to feel, to remember, and ultimately, to be transformed by.
